III «Sarbaz» Military-Patriotic Game

On April 12, 2019, Al-Farabi KazNU held the 3rd «Sarbaz» military-patriotic game for the Cup of the Rector of Al-Farabi KazNU that was organized on the eve of the Fatherland Defenders’ Day and the Great Victory Day, in accordance with the «Ruhani Zhangiru» National Program, in order to foster Kazakhstani patriotism among students and schoolchildren.

The best teams from high school students in Almaty, as well as the profile school of Al-Farabi KazNU and the Self-Knowledge Gymnasium of the National Center «Bobek» were involved to participate in this military-patriotic game.

In 2019, the III «Sarbaz» military-patriotic game was sponsored by the People’s Assembly of Kazakhstan in Almaty city and the «Parasat» Workers’ Union of KazNU. The «Sarbaz» Republican military-patriotic newspaper has become informational sponsor of the «Sarbaz» military-patriotic game for the second year.

At the opening ceremony of the military-patriotic game, the Head of the Military Department of KazNU, Colonel O.V. Azhimov highlighted the importance of military-patriotic education of school youth and that without love for their homeland, for their land, for their city, school, home, it is impossible to educate a real citizen, a real defender of the Fatherland. The Chairman of the Almaty City Council of Veterans of the Armed Forces, retired Colonel M.D. Shampiev, the Chief Editor of the «Sarbaz» Republican military-patriotic newspaper, Kuatbek Batyrkhan, and a member of the People’s Assembly of Kazakhstan, Colonel (retired) K.V. Mamsurov, who have been invited as honorary guests, noted the activity and interest of schoolchildren in the study of military affairs and gave vivid examples from the history of our ancestors’ heroism in the defense of the Fatherland.

In the course of the militarized relay, schoolchildren competed in air rifle shooting, assembling a Kalashnikov assault rifle, fulfilling standards in protection equipment, military medical training and an intellectual competition in the history of Kazakhstan.

A creative contest was held brightly and festively in which boys and girls performed songs of the war years, individual schools presented entire literary and musical compositions about the Great Patriotic War.

As a result of persistent struggle, the first place and the main prize - the Cup of the Rector of Al-Farabi KazNU was won by the team of the «Self-knowledge» Gymnasium of the «Bobek» National Center. In addition, at the initiative of the People’s Assembly of Kazakhstan in Almaty, the winners of the game were awarded certificates for a five-day tour to the military sports camp in Borovoe. The second place was taken by the team of the profile school of KazNU and the third place was taken by the team of the school-gymnasium No. 148 of the Zhetysu district in Almaty.

On the initiative of the «Sarbaz» Republican military-patriotic newspaper, all ten schools, participants of the «Sarbaz» military-patriotic game, received a free subscription to the «Sarbaz» newspaper.

The game has finished with demonstration of performances by students of the Military Department and serving of all the participants and guests of the event with soldier porridge.
