SMART CAMPUS PROJECT IS LAUNCHED
10/21/2019Al-Farabi KazNU, together with a company from France, Electritis de France (EDF), launches a smart campus project. This was informed during a meeting of Rector of KazNU Galym Mutanov with Director of the European Institute for Energy Research EDF Pascal Terrien.
«Today KazNU as a Global Hub of the UN «Academic Impact» program on Sustainable Development is actively involved in protecting the ecology and the environment, and it is working to promote ideas for sustainable development, research and development of projects on alternative and renewable energy sources. The use of renewable energy sources is a promising area that society needs. It helps to improve the living standards of the state and has a direct impact on the development of the Universe. In this regard, we are ready to cooperate with Electricite de France (EDF) with the aim of further improvement in this area», - said Rector Galym Mutanov.
EDF is a France’s largest state-owned energy producer and largest nuclear power plant operator in the world. The EDF operates 59 power units of nuclear power plants, provides electricity to 25 million homes.
«Today, Germany is a leader in the use of renewable energy resources. Our company cooperates with the largest German institutions to exchange experience in this direction. Renewable energy sources are restored with the help of these sources while reducing the share of carbon dioxide in the environment, reducing harmful emissions, normalizing pollution of lake waters and oxidizing the Earth's crust. In this direction, the Company monitors the indigenous energy system through a smart city, promotes the development of new types of alternative energy sources services and creates comfortable conditions for citizens,» - said Pascal Terrien, Director of the European Institute for Energy Research EDF during the negotiations.
During the meeting, the Parties have also exchanged views on cooperation in the field of education and science.
