Congratulations with the Housewarming!

Teachers and staff of Al-Farabi KazNU have received apartments in the new «Alatau City» residential complex under the «Nurly Zher» programme. Happy new settlers expressed their gratitude to the University management for their assistance in solving the housing problem.

This story with a happy ending began in June 2019, when the JSC «IO Kazakhstan Mortgage Company», the Ministry of Education and Science signed an agreement to provide education workers with housing under the program «Nurly Zher».

As it is known, the conditions of this program are quite advantageous and allow Kazakhstanis to have their own houses. Under the terms of «Nurly Zher», the duration of lease of new housing is 20 years, there is no down payment, and it is possible to buy it early at any time and without penalties. In addition, most importantly, the average monthly rent is below the average market price in the country.

This year, 144 apartments have been allocated in Almaty under this program. At the same time, 24 organizations have applied for housing. In the new residential complex «Alatau City», 39 one, two and three bedroom apartments have been allocated for the University staff. The share of employees of KazNU is 27% of the total fund. Incomplete and large families, children with disabilities, youth and other categories have received housing. Of these, 74 per cent are teachers, the rest are administrative and auxiliary personnel.

Happy owners of new apartments are full of emotions. «For ten years I have rented a flat, and finally I got an apartment in Almaty. I’m proud to be teaching at the country’s main University. Rector of KazNU Galym Mutanov has congratulated the new settlers during the online meeting of the rectorate, wishing them happiness and success in their work. In turn, they thanked the leadership of the University for their assistance in solving such a difficult but very important housing issue. This shows that the country's leading University appreciates and helps its staff, as human resources are the University's main competitive advantage.
