KazNU Students Stand for a Virtuous Society!

Al-Farabi KazNU organized an online meeting of students and teachers with representatives of the Republican Information and Educational Center, established under the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan to combat corruption. The meeting, dedicated to discussing the principles of integrity and education of young people in the spirit of intolerance to unfair practices, was broadcast live on Zoom, «Jynalis Room» and YouTube channel «AlFarabiTV».

Welcoming the guests, Professor Sholpan Zhamanbalayeva, Vice-Rector of KazNU for Social Development, Doctor of Sociological Sciences, noted the importance of the meeting dedicated to one of the priorities of the strategic development of the country – the fight against corruption.

The online meeting was attended by the Advisor to the Chairman of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan to combat corruption, Chairman of the Republican informational and educational headquarters of the Agency Yrza Tursynzadakyzy, head of the Republican project office «Sanaly Urpaq» Kairzhan Tokushev, head of the project office «Almaty-Adaldyk Alany» Alexander Bratenkov and more than 500 students of KazNU.

Yrza Tursynzadakyzy highly appreciated the anti-corruption activities of KazNU and stressed in her address to students that the future is in the hands of young people and they have a great responsibility. «We entrust you with our independence, the future and our flag – a symbol of freedom of the great steppe. Following Magzhan Zhumabaev, I would like to say: «I believe in our youth! Yes, we have a rich country – the entire Mendeleev table is in the depths of our land, but our most important wealth is our youth. You are our justice, purity, new ideas and the future! And we can together fight such a social evil as corruption. And we can build our common happy tomorrow», noted Y. Tursynzadakyzy.

During the event, participants exchanged suggestions and shared positive experiences in combating corruption. The guests of honor visited the unique Centre of Situational Management of the University, which has no analogues among higher education institutions of Kazakhstan. The guests also got acquainted with the work of the research center «Anticorruption Technologies» and the school of integrity «Parasattylyk», which together with the republican project office «Sanaly Urpaq» form a scientific and educational cluster for the formation of anti-corruption culture and consciousness of young people in the country – a key intellectual and analytical center for the promotion of principles of integrity.
