Al-Farabi KazNU hosted a meeting of the Chairman of the Board-Rector of the University Zhanseit Tuimebayev with young scientists, during which they discussed the issues of active participation of undergraduates, doctoral students and postdoctoral students in the development of the university, the need to support their creative projects and initiatives, as well as expanding the boundaries of the exchange of scientific ideas.
In his welcoming speech, Zhanseit Kanseituly noted the role of science and education as priority areas of state policy in Kazakhstan and the importance of their development as separate sectors of the economy. “In many highly developed, advanced countries of the world, the indicators of the university's success are the patents introduced into production, commercialized technologies, on the basis of which the national innovative economy develops. Thus, the state receives profit from investments in research and universities, ”the head of the university stressed.
Today, KazNU employs 311 young scientists under the age of 40. Many of them have completed training and scientific internships at leading universities and centers in the world. The scientific achievements of our young researchers have already received high recognition in Kazakhstan and abroad. They are actively involved in the implementation of research programs and projects as leaders. So, within the framework of grant funding for young scientists for 2021-2023. research is being carried out on 32 projects totaling 1 billion 622 million tenge.
The university has a whole system of support for young scientists. Such mechanisms are being successfully implemented as attracting doctoral students to carry out research work on a paid basis within the framework of grant funding projects, a competition "The Best Young Scientist of KazNU" is being held, articles are awarded in top-rated journals included in the Scopus database. One of the latest innovations is the introduction of the postdoctoral institute. Today, 35 young postdoc scientists are already developing topical areas of research, forming new scientific schools.
The goal of the university leadership is to create favorable conditions for the disclosure of the creative and scientific potential of youth in full. “From your side, we expect high results, scientific achievements, both in the field of economic and technological development, and for the benefit of society and the spiritual component,” the rector summed up his speech, addressing the meeting participants.
________
In response, young scientists thanked the university leadership for supporting innovative projects, providing grants for scientific research and other initiatives, which serve as an excellent incentive for the implementation of bold creative ideas and ideas that can bring great benefit to society. The speakers made their proposals for consideration by the university administration. Thus, a postdoctoral student of the Faculty of Physics and Technology, laureate of the D. Kunayev for young scientists in 2020 Yerbolat Usenov expressed a wish that young graduates of the post-graduate program continue their scientific work at the university: “In world universities there are positions such as“ researcher-assistant professor ”,“ researcher-professor ”. It would be great if our faculties included such positions in the staffing table. This would help young scientists to pay more attention to research work, to further guide the scientific work of doctoral students and undergraduates. "
