A MODERN TENNIS CENTER OPENED IN THE KAZNU

A modern tennis center "Zhan Dosym" has opened in the Sports Complex of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

The indoor center of the newest type includes six courts and a grandstand for 165 spectators. The high-quality surface of the courts meets the world requirements approved by the International Tennis Federation. The project is being implemented on the initiative of the Zhan Dosym tennis club with the support of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the Kazakhstan Tennis Federation.

The solemn event dedicated to the significant event was attended by: Chairman of the Board-Rector of Al-Farabi KazNU Zhanseit Tuimebayev, President of the Zhan Dosym club Eset Eshpanov, Vice Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerlan Kozhagapanov, Vice President of the Tennis Federation of Kazakhstan Yuri Polskikh, project investor Erlan Kozhasbay, entrepreneur Armanzhan Baitasov.

The head of KazNU noted that the First President of Kazakhstan - Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev was actively involved in many sports, including tennis. During 30 years of independence, he has always paid increased attention to the development of sports in the country, including tennis and table tennis.

According to the rector of KazNU, the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Kemelevich Tokayev was professionally engaged in table tennis and at school age became a candidate for master of sports. Talking about his experience of 13 years of leadership of the Kazakhstan Table Tennis Federation, the President always emphasized that the development of sports infrastructure is one of the priority tasks.

“The new tennis center will allow students to engage in a useful, developing sport all twelve months of the year. And I hope that young people will be able to train in excellent conditions and reach great heights in this sport ”, - said the rector of KazNU Zh.Tuimebayev.

President of the tennis club "Zhan Dosym" Eset Eshpanov shared his memories of how thirty years ago, when he first became interested in tennis, there were no conditions and he played in the parks. Later he began to train at KazNU. It was then that the idea arose to build a modern tennis center over time. He expressed gratitude to the management and sponsors of the university, who supported the good deed, and wished the prosperity of mass sports in our country.

On the territory of the center, with the support of the Tennis Federation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a children's tennis school for 300 places will open. Yerlan Sadvakasovich, an entrepreneur and one of the initiators of the project, announced this, adding that access to the center will be provided for children from low-income families.

The new, modern center has all the conditions for professional and amateur tennis: a gym, a medical office, changing rooms and bathrooms, a cafe and a sports store. The activities of the center are carried out in compliance with all sanitary standards and requirements.

The construction of this sports complex with the support of a private investor spent 485 million tenge. The tennis center, surrounded by picturesque nature, will become a favorite place not only for professional athletes, but also for young people and townspeople.
