RECTOR KAZNU TAKES PART IN THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE DEDICATED TO THE 85TH ANNIVERSARY OF OLZHAS SULEIMENOV

Almaty hosted an international scientific conference dedicated to the 85th anniversary of Olzhas Suleimenov "We wander towards ourselves, recognizing in something else: Olzhas and the rapprochement of cultures."

It was attended by: Director of the ICSC under the auspices of UNESCO (Kazakhstan) Olzhas Suleimenov, Vice Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurkisa Daueshov, Rector of Al-Farabi KazNU Zhanseit Tuimebayev, Rector of KazNAU Tlektes Yespolov, Chairman of the Writers' Union of the Republic of Kazakhstan Ulykbek Esdaulet, famous statesmen and public figures, writers, scientists and poets, media representatives and many others. The conference was organized by the International Center for the Rapprochement of Cultures (ICSC) under the auspices of UNESCO under the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan within the framework of the "International Decade for the Rapprochement of Cultures", together with the Akimat of Almaty. Congratulating the outstanding poet and writer, world-famous public and political figure Olzhas Suleimenov, the conference participants expressed admiration for the poet's work, which combines the poetics of the avant-garde, steppe motives and the cosmism of the technogenic era. It is obvious that the outstanding figure made a huge contribution to the rapprochement of cultures of different peoples.

Speaking at the plenary session, the Chairman of the Board-Rector of Al-Farabi KazNU Zhanseit Tuimebayev said: “The spiritual phenomenon of Olzhas Suleimenov is unique, he is like a nomad-passionary. His work, having absorbed the best traditions of Kazakh culture, has become universal. Remaining flesh of flesh as a Kazakh, Olzhas Omarovich creates in Russian, thus choosing the path of enriching his national culture and literature. "

The head of the university stressed that Olzhas Suleimenov in his works reveals the contribution and role of the Turkic peoples to the development of world culture and history. He creates the image of the Kazakh people, glorifies the steppe expanses of Kazakhstan, but at the same time does not detract from the greatness of the mountains. Olzhas Omarovich is a deep, original thinker, as well as a man of decisive action. In a short time he created the international anti-nuclear movement “Nevada - Semipalatinsk. And his word had a powerful impact on the formation of spiritual and political guidelines for thinking people. For the first time in modern history, an independent republic headed by N.A. Nazarbayev independently solved the problem of stopping nuclear tests. “The world intellectual elite knows Olzhas Suleimenov as a statesman and politician. His activity as a diplomat in the status of a permanent representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to UNESCO is invaluable, ”Zh. Tuimebayev said in his speech.

Sorbonne professor Leon Robel, presenting to the French reader his translation of the poem "The Clay Book", noted: “Olzhas Suleimenov has long been close to the idea of ​​brotherhood of cultures and spiritual mutual enrichment of peoples. He wants to read history like a big book of migrations and changes of signs. Deciphering writing, languages ​​and legends, in his opinion, will help us to look differently at the history of mankind. For a long time already our fragmented world has not heard such a strong voice - we recognize Olzhas Suleimenov as the heir or successor of Gilgamesh, Hugo, Khlebnikov, one of those whose greatness is natural ”.

In conclusion, the rector noted that an international beach volleyball tournament was held in the al-Farabi KazNU, as part of the events dedicated to the anniversary of O. Suleimenov. Also, on May 19, a number of events will be held at the university, including the opening of a museum corner, an audience named after Olzhas Suleimenov and an international conference dedicated to the poet's work.

The work of the international conference "We wander towards ourselves, recognizing in something else: Olzhas and the rapprochement of cultures" was held in three sections, which were devoted to the study of the main directions of the life and work of Olzhas Suleimenov and his role in the history of mankind.
