COOPERATION WITH AMERICAN COUNCILS WILL EXPAND

A meeting of the Chairman of the Board - Rector of the University Zh.K. Tuimebayeva with Honorary President of the American Councils for International Education Dan Davidson.

The participants of the meeting, noting the positive results on the implemented joint projects, discussed topical issues of interaction and outlined a new vector of cooperation in the field of science and education.

KazNU cooperation with American Councils began in 2014. Within the framework of the signed agreement on the programs "Flagship" and "Russian Language and International Diplomacy" 340 American students were trained at the university. In addition to in-depth study of the Russian language, students under these programs additionally master the Kazakh language, get acquainted with the culture and traditions of the Kazakh people, sights, historical monuments and nature of Kazakhstan.

To date, more than 20 students and schoolchildren undergo online training as part of the summer school organized by the Faculty of International Relations of KazNU. Over the past three years, 159 teachers and students of KazNU studied and trained at partner universities of the United States.

In Kazakhstan, special attention is paid to expanding cooperation with leading universities and research centers of the world, scientific and educational foundations. This activity is aimed at transforming KazNU into a world-class research university, increasing its global competitiveness and training highly-qualified specialists in demand.

During the meeting, the head of the university stressed that KazNU is expanding cooperation in double-degree education and noted innovative projects and developments of young scientists and students.

In turn, the President of the American Councils for International Education Dan Davidson spoke about the activities of US universities, which, like KazNU, promote innovative projects and are the best sources of scientific research and development. Dan Davidson expressed his readiness to develop partnerships with a leading university in Kazakhstan and support initiatives aimed at expanding fruitful cooperation and interaction.

In conclusion, the parties decided to prepare a new project plan, identifying areas for further cooperation.
