RECTOR CONGRATULATED HAPPY NEW ACADEMIC YEAR

The Chairman of the Board - Rector of KazNU named after Al-Farabi congratulated the students and the teaching staff on the International Day of Education and the beginning of the new academic year.

Welcoming the freshmen who entered the year of the 30th anniversary of Independence, he noted the symbolism of this date and wished all students great success in their studies and science, perseverance and achievement of great professional heights. 

In his article, the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev “When we are united, we are invincible” (“Birlese bilgen el burin zhegedi” appealing to the younger generation.

The rector, quoting the words of Elbasy and addressing the students, admonished them not to forget these wise instructions. The head of the university also noted that on the instructions of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Kemelovich Tokayev, the new academic year will begin in the traditional format.

In KazNU named after Al-Farabi, the leading university of Kazakhstan occupies a leading position not only in national, but also in international rankings. In particular, together with foreign partners, universities, KazNU developed 119 new educational programs for all forms of education. It is also planned to open four branches of KazNU abroad (Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkey).

This year, the number of applicants for a state grant at KazNU has tripled. Thus, this year the university accepted 7108 undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students for training.

Since the new academic year, the salary of the teaching staff has significantly increased at the university. In early March, the salaries of teachers and staff rose by 20%. The rector stressed that from the beginning of the new academic year, the teacher will receive 200,000 tenge, which is 33% higher than last year's figure. The salary of a senior teacher increased by 75% and amounted to 280,000 tenge. Compared to last year, the salary of an associate professor increased by 88%, and a professor by 163% and amounted to 330,000 tenge and 500,000 tenge, respectively.
