A lecture on the prevention of religious extremism and terrorism among students was held at the Al-Farabi KazNU, organized by the "Center for Monitoring and Analysis" of the Department of Social Development of Almaty.
A lecture on the topic "Prevention of religious extremism and terrorism" was delivered by a member of the information and explanatory group of the city of Almaty, a teacher at KazNU named after Al-Farabi, PhD Doctor in Jurisprudence Adilgazy Serikhan.
According to the speaker, religious extremism, acting under the guise of an attraction to religion, engenders and develops immoral views and principles, destroys generally recognized norms of morality and law, hindering the formation and development of institutions of democracy and civil society.
The expert told the audience about the hallmarks of destructive religious movements, psychological methods of recruiting in extremist and terrorist organizations. The speaker also noted the importance of interfaith harmony for the preservation of public safety and prosperity of the state.
Students were able to ask questions of interest to them, to participate in the discussion. The informative event aroused great interest of the participants, had a great educational and cognitive effect.
