THE AMBASSADOR OF ITALY HIGHLY APPRECIATED THE REAL RESULTS

Chairman of the Board - Rector of Al-Farabi KazNU Zhanseit Tuimebayev held a meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Italy to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Marco Alberti. During the meeting, they discussed bilateral cooperation in the field of science and education.

The rector of the university, having greeted the Italian ambassador, spoke about the activities of the university, the achievements of the strategic partnership of universities of the two countries and introduced the program and projects in the scientific and educational sphere.

Al-Farabi KazNU closely cooperates with 14 leading universities and research centers in Italy, among which are the University of Florence, Sapienza University of Rome, Ca Fascari-Venice University, University of Pisa, Carlo Bo University of Pisa, University of Catania, International Center relativistic astrophysics, etc. The two-degree undergraduate and graduate programs in political science and history are being successfully implemented.

Over the past three years, 135 students and 18 doctoral students have been trained, took part in scientific seminars and conferences of these higher educational institutions, and 15 teachers have visited Italian universities in the framework of joint research. Professors of Italian universities have repeatedly visited KazNU to give lectures, providing scientific guidance to PhD students.

The rector of the university, Zhanseit Tuimebayev, also noted that within the framework of the Erasmus + program, the ChildCA project - improving education in the field of childcare as a model for the modernization of postgraduate medical education in Central Asia is operating. The main coordinator is the University of Pavia, and the Higher School of Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine and Health is represented from KazNU. This project involves 11 universities from three European countries (Italy, Germany and Poland) and three Central Asian countries (Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan). In this regard, the head of the university asked for support in the further development of cooperation between the university in Italy and the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The rector expressed hope for the continuation of close and fruitful cooperation, which will accelerate the solution of the tasks in the field of training highly qualified personnel, research and development in the field of nanotechnology and materials, archeology, as well as scientific and innovative projects.

In turn, the Ambassador of Italy to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Marco Alberti, thanked the leadership for the warm welcome and highly appreciated the results of cooperation between the university and Italian universities. He assured that he would support all the undertakings and projects of KazNU aimed at expanding scientific and educational contacts between the two countries.
