DISCUSSED PROBLEMS OF PROTECTION AND PROTECTION OF PETROGLIFOS
10/21/2021Today, the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted an international exhibition "Masterpieces of the world's cultural heritage - rock paintings of Gobustan". A large-scale event, organized jointly with the Tamgaly State Natural Reserve-Museum and the Gobustan State Historical and Artistic Reserve of Azerbaijan, is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the 50th anniversary of the Department of Archeology, Ethnology and Museology of Al-Farabi KazNU.
The congratulatory speech was made by I. O. Vice-Rector for Social Development Aliya Masalimova, who focused on the historical, political and cultural significance of the event. Noting its relevance on the eve of the Independence Day, in her speech the speaker revealed the significance of rock paintings in the process of studying the history of mankind.
Speaking at the meeting, the representative of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Kazakhstan Ulvi Bakhshaviyev stressed that in the history of the two countries there are points of contact that bring our peoples together. “We have been cooperating with KazNU for a long time,” he said. "The center of the Azerbaijani language is successfully functioning at the Faculty of Oriental Studies."
The following speakers also spoke during the exhibition: Director of the Gobustan State Historical and Art Museum-Reserve Vugar Ulfat oglu Isaev, Director of the State Natural Museum-Reserve "Tamgaly" Madiyar Amirgaliyev, leading domestic and foreign museologists, archaeologists and experts.
The main goal of the exhibition is to reproduce the real aesthetic power of petroglyphs, to establish cooperation with foreign museums-reserves, on the territory of which there are complexes of rock carvings, and to draw the attention of the general public to the existence of a cultural heritage in Kazakhstan - petroglyph complexes, which are recognized as one of the largest, most beautiful and most important worldwide.
The exhibition is intended to stimulate the search for a solution to the problem of protection and protection of petroglyphs at the educational regional, national and international levels. This is especially important in connection with the increase in the number of visitors to ancient monuments who do not realize their value and have no respect for either the historical site or unique rock carvings.
