STATE PRIZE - FOR SCIENTIFIC DEVELOPMENT

The KazNU scientist took part in a scientific project to develop a domestic antibiotic, which was awarded the Al-Farabi State Prize - a sign of the highest recognition of the merits of scientists and technicians to society and the state.

An important state award and public recognition was given to the work on the topic "Development and organization of production of a new domestic original drug" Roseofungin-AS ", presented by a team of authors headed by the Director General of the Research and Production Center for Microbiology and Virology", Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor, Academician NAS RK Amankeldi Kurbanovich Sadanov. It included acting Associate Professor of the Department of Biotechnology, Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology, KazNU named after Al-Farabi, Candidate of Biological Sciences G.D. Ultanbekova.

Research and practical development of the laureates of the state prize is associated with a new domestic antibiotic "roseofungin", which has a wide spectrum of antifungal and antiviral activity. On its basis, a highly effective drug "Roseofungin-AS" has been created, intended for the treatment of various fungal infections in humans. In the Research and Production Center for Microbiology and Virology, not only the development of this drug has been completed, but also the production line for its industrial production has been fully prepared. By the way, Roseofungin-AS is currently the first and so far the only domestic medical product. In addition, its cost is almost three times lower than the cost of foreign analogues.
