SCIENTISTS OF KAZAKHSTAN AND TURKMENISTAN EXCHANGE OPINIONS

An international round table dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Turkmenistan was held in KazNU named after Al-Farabi with the participation of scientists.

Welcoming the participants of the round table, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Gulshat Yusupova expressed gratitude for the support and participation of Al-Farabi KazNU in the event, which provides an opportunity to exchange views and experience.

Diplomatic relations between the two states were established in 1992 and today partnerships are successfully developing in many areas, including education and science.

And about. Vice-rector of KazNU K.N. Mukanov noted that Kazakh-Turkmen relations are a demonstration of adherence to the spirit of good-neighborliness and mutually beneficial cooperation.

Al-Farabi KazNU, as one of the leading universities in Kazakhstan, is aimed at developing active collaboration in the field of education and science with Turkmen partners.

In 2021, as part of the state visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev to Turkmenistan, Al-Farabi KazNU signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Makhtumkuli Turkmen State University.

During the work of the round table, the reports of the professors of KazNU - Mary Gubaidullina, Galiya Movkebaeva, scientists of Turkmenistan - Begench Karaev, Ogulkurban Ezimov, and many others were heard.

The roundtable participants noted the positive experience of cooperation in the fields of politics, economics, science and education.

To date, 478 students from Turkmenistan are studying at KazNU, including 472 on a contractual basis and six on the basis of a state educational grant.
