THE DEBATE TOURNAMENT HELD

In honor of the 30th anniversary of the country's independence, KazNU hosted the traditional city debate tournament "Pupils of Al-Farabi-VI", organized by the intellectual discussion club "Altyn Sapa". Students of higher educational institutions of the city of Almaty took part in the competition.

During the two-day debate, 88 speakers were divided into 42 factions, and exchanged views on the way of establishing the country's sovereignty, the achievements of Independence and pressing problems of today.

As a result, the winners were determined - the best of the best, distinguished by their wit, resourcefulness, the art of laconic and capacious words.

In the debates of the American parliamentary format, the first place was taken by Inali Inkarov (Turan University) and Azamat Arynov (University named after Suleiman Demirel), the second place went to Orken Mukhammedaliuly (KazNPU named after Abai) and Sergali Tyshabaev (KazNPU named after Abai). Prizes were won by Mukhammedali Alishbaev (Narxoz University) and Daulet Rzabaev (Narxoz University).

The best speaker in the Lincoln Douglas format was Binur Akhatkyzy (Turan University), the best speaker - Erlan Bulekbaev (Narxoz University), the best judge - Bibinur Sadir, the best judge - Zhibek Muhammad.

Chairman of the intellectual tournament of KazNU "Altyn Sapa", chief judge Daulet Murzakulov expressed his opinion about the event: “I believe that the debate tournament introduces the young generation to the wonderful art that allows young people to develop critical thinking and improve themselves. Active youth presented effective mechanisms for solving urgent problems of our country, including the city of Almaty. The youth of KazNU, being the organizer, did not participate in the competition. In general, this tournament has fulfilled its tasks and raised the patriotic spirit of the youth ”.

The winners were awarded letters of thanks and cash prizes.
