WORK ON CREATION OF MEPhI BRANCH HAS STARTED IN KAZNU

The leadership of the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI paid a working visit to the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi. Chairman of the Board - Rector of KazNU named after Al-Farabi Zhanseit Tuymebayev met guests from the Russian Federation and held a meeting with them. The parties discussed the creation of a branch of the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI at Al-Farabi KazNU.

Welcoming the guests, Zhanseit Tuimebaev emphasized that today KazNU has rich experience in scientific and educational cooperation with Russian universities in various fields.

“Today, over 150 cooperation agreements have been signed with leading universities and institutes of the Russian Federation, within which various educational programs and scientific and innovative projects are being successfully implemented. In this regard, it is necessary to highlight the cooperation with the National Research Nuclear University "MEPhI". Within the framework of which joint educational programs are being implemented in the magistracy,” said the rector of the university.

In addition, the head of the higher educational institution expressed his readiness to strengthen cooperation by opening a branch of MEPhI on the basis of Al-Farabi KazNU and joint training of specialists in the field of nuclear physics, laser and plasma technologies, nuclear energy, and nanotechnologies.

“In September of this year, we are ready to open a branch of the Moscow Institute. Some work has been done so far. Drafts of the Roadmap and agreements between KazNU and MEPhI have been prepared. Grants allocated. At first, the branch will be located in a separate educational building of the Faculty of Physics and Technology. In the future, it is possible to build a separate building, taking into account the allocation of budgetary funds from the republican budget of the Republic of Kazakhstan,” Zhanseit Tuymebayev said.

In turn, Vice-Rector of the Moscow Engineering Physics Institute Dmitry Savkin expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and hospitality.

“We are very pleased to visit Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, which is known throughout the world. We are ready to provide any possible assistance in resolving the issues of opening a branch. NRNU MEPhI is in the top 5 best Russian universities. We already have experience in opening branches abroad. Fruitful work is required from all of us,” said the Vice-Rector of MEPhI.

As part of a two-day working trip, it is planned to visit the educational building, where the NRNU branch will be located, as well as discuss and resolve legal issues.
