ANNIVERSARY MEETING WITH THE POET

A round table on the topic "O. Oralbayuly's creativity and modern Kazakh poetry", dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the famous poet, literary scholar, publicist, laureate of the State Prize, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan Otegen Oralbayuly was hosted at the library of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

Opening the meeting, member of the Board – Vice-Rector for Scientific and Innovative Activities of the University Haidar Tasibekov read congratulatory letters of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev.

Moreover, by the decision of the Academic Council of KazNU, Otegen Oralbayuly was awarded the medal "Yeren enbegi ushin".

Doctor of Philology, Professor Kanseit Abdezuly made a report, in which he focused on the brightest moments of the writer. Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan, editor-in-chief of the magazine "Zhuldyz", writer Mereke Kulkenov congratulated the writer, especially noting the merits of Otegen Oralbayuly in the development of Kazakh literature. Literary scholars Zinol-Gabden Bisengali, Dandai Ysak, Tursynbek highly appreciated achievements of Otegen Oralbayuly in the field of linguistics and literary studies. The deans of the faculty Bayan Zholdasbekova, Nurzhan Kuantai, Dosbol Baikonakov gave speech, highlighting the contribution made by the prominent writer.

1st year students of the Faculty of Philology P. Balgynbayeva, T. Zheniskyzy, O. Nurmukhamed, B. Aslanbek, F. Rashid performed the best poems of the poet Otegen Oralbayuly. At the end of the meeting, the guests, scientists, teachers and students received an autograph from the poet.
