STUDENTS OF KAZNU WON POSCO-2022 SCHOLARSHIP

The award ceremony of the POSCO-2022 Foundation scholarship was held at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

The event was attended by representatives and CEO of the International Corporation POSCO Foundation Park Byung Wook, the leadership of KazNU, teachers and students.

Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation of KazNU Haidar Tasibekov noted that the POSCO Foundation has been supporting and motivating students for 15 years.

The POSCO scholarship is awarded to the best students of 12 universities in 10 Asian countries. Cooperation between the foundation and the university is developing, motivating students to new achievements and victories. The success of the fellows contributes to the strengthening of amicable relations between the two countries.

In turn, Mr. Park Byung Wook thanked the management of university for the warm welcome and expressed readiness for further cooperation in the field of science and education. According to the results of the International Fund of the South Korean Steel Mill POSCO TJ Foundation, 10 best students were selected at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

The Director of the Foundation solemnly presented the students with certificates of the POSCO Asia Fellowship 2022 scholarship. The winners of the prestigious scholarship are six best students of the Faculty of the Higher School of Economics and Business, one student of the Faculty of Medicine and Healthcare, a 4th-year student of the Faculty of Law, a 2nd-year student of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, as well as a 2nd-year student of the Faculty of Journalism. Each student was given a grant in the amount of 800 USD.

“I express my sincere gratitude to the Foundation for providing me with a scholarship. The scholarship is one of the forms of support and further stimulation of students' activity and creative potential. I will make every effort to develop personal growth for the benefit of society, the prestige of my faculty and growth in the professional sphere," said Asan Abdirahim, a 3rd–year student of the Higher School of Economics and Business of KazNU.

In conclusion, on behalf of the Chairman of the Board – Rector of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the KazNU staff, the Director General of the Foundation Park Byung Wook was awarded a large medal of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University for three years of fruitful cooperation.
