The museum of the Kazakh National University hosted the grand opening of a traveling exhibition dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the artist-restorer, member of the Union of Artists of Kazakhstan, holder of the Hungarian Order of “the Knight's Cross” K. Altynbekov.
K. Altynbekov is a leading restorer of archaeological artifacts of Central Asia, the founder and head of the scientific restoration laboratory "Island of Crimea", a full member of the Academy of Arts of the Republic of Kazakhstan, who restored more than 1,000 monuments of history and culture, ancient applied art exhibited in museums around the world.
K. Altynbekov's exhibition has been displayed not only in Kazakhstan, but also in Russia, Austria, Belgium, Hungary, Korea, China, the USA, Turkey and other countries and continues to arouse the interest of world scientists in the history of nomads.
The exposition also presents woodwork, ceramic tableware decorated with the national ornament, gold and precious stones and inlaid jewelry, comb mirrors used by princesses, etc. The exhibition will last until the end of December in the Central Museum of the University, located in the building of the Rector's office.
