The meeting was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science Bekzhan Omirbayev, who noted that religious radicalism has become an urgent global problem, which requires immediate solution.

presentations were made by the following specialists: Attache for Religious Affairs of the Consulate General of the Republic of Turkey in Almaty Emrullah Uzum, Adviser for Religious Affairs of the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Astana Neset Bodur and Head of the Department for Religious Affairs of Almaty Nurlan Kikimov, who wished success in the work of the Winter School.

During the discussion, participants shared their experiences and ideas. The issues of the history of the origin of religious radicalism, the causes of its occurrence and ways to combat this negative phenomenon were touched upon.

The participants stressed that religious radicalism is not a separate problem of one state, and proposed to act against it jointly. The direct connection of religious extremism with the general religious literacy of the population was discussed. It was shown that many problems arise due to the superficial education of citizens, including religious education. This, in turn, threatens the sovereignty of the state. As an example, the speakers noted that the recent burning of a Quran in Sweden also caused international tension.
