"Last year, our country hosted the VII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions with the participation of Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Pope Francis, Chief Imam of Al-Azhar Sheikh Ahmad al-Tayeb. 130 heads of delegations from 60 countries of the world were invited to the event. Among them are representatives of Islam, Christianity, Judaism, Shinto, Buddhism, Zoroastrianism, Hinduism and other religions. The Congress was attended by authoritative politicians, representatives of science and culture, heads of public organizations dealing with issues of interfaith and intercultural dialogue. In this regard, I would like to note that a total of 17 delegations took part in the first congress, held in 2003. Thus, the authority and importance of the congress are growing every day," Bolat Sergazievich stated.
The lecturer also told about the future plans of the center: "Currently, we have begun preparations for the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions. Leaders of various religious spheres will come to our country and discuss topical issues".
