KAZNU INCREASES PARTNERSHIP WITH RUSSIAN UNIVERSITIES

Chairman of the Management Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev received Maxim Bondarev, Vice-Rector for Project Activities of the Southern Federal University (Russia), and Ruben Tsitsuashvili, Head of the International Service Department. During the conversation, the sides exchanged views and proposals on various areas of cooperation.

                                               

Rector acquainted the honored guests with the achievements of KazNU and told about future plans. Also in his speech, Zhanseit Tuimebayev voiced his proposals for building up partnership, exchange of academic staff and students.

Today 195 agreements on cooperation between KazNU and 140 universities of the Russian Federation have been signed. The university also participates in TEMPUS projects/Erasmus+ together with Russian universities. In 2022 a branch of the MEPhI was opened on the basis of KazNU with the participation of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek and Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Natalia Bocharova. Currently, 53 students from Russia study at the university. In 2020-23, 438 students completed an internship at leading universities of the Russian Federation under the academic mobility program.

"Southern Federal University is one of the leading universities in Russia. We would like to conduct research in the field of mechanics, mathematics, physics and chemistry together with Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, and implement scientific projects. We are also ready to exchange students and implement a two–degree education program," Maxim Bondarev announced.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed on the systematic implementation of these proposals.
