LARGE-SCALE CONFERENCE

At the Faculty of Physics and Technology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, an international conference on the topic of of modern physics "Abdildin Readings" was held, dedicated to the 85th anniversary of one of the outstanding physicists of Kazakhstan, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Abdildin Meyrhan Mubarakovich.

Meyrkhan Abdildin was born in 1938 in Altai (Russia). He graduated from the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of S. M. Kirov Kazakh State University. In 1966 he defended his PhD thesis at the Leningrad State University named after A.A. Zhdanov. From 1970 to 2008 he was the head of the Department of Theoretical Physics of KazGU. In 1989 Meyrhan Mubarakovich won the election of a democratic rector, for the first time in the history of KazGU, and was the head of the university until 1991. He was awarded the Order of Honor, the title of Honored Worker of Kazakhstan. Meyrhan Mubarakovich was an encyclopedic scientist.

Meyrhan Mubarakovich popularizied the l theory of relativity of physics to the entire Kazakh public, formed a scientific school, the name and meaning of which spread throughout the world. He wrote more than 240 scientific papers, 3 monographs, prepared 14 doctors of sciences and candidates. Since 1997 he was a Member in the organizing committee of Marcel Grossmann Award.

The conference topics cover the main areas of modern physics, including the following: theoretical physics, nuclear physics and elementary particle physics, astrophysics and cosmology, cosmic rays, plasma physics, condensed matter physics, thermal physics, biophysics, medical physics, educational and methodological and philosophical issues. This conference will undoubtedly make a significant contribution to cooperation between foreign partners in the field of physics, coordination of high-level research on physics in an international context, and also unites fruitful cooperation between active researchers.
