Upon completion of this educational program, students are expected to be able to:

ON1. Understand the laws of social and humanitarian development of modern society, have the ability to interpersonal, social, professional communication in the state, Russian and foreign languages, have the skills of self-development and education throughout their lives;
ON2. To assess the current state, problems and prospects of the development of geographical science;
ON3. Apply modern methods of geography to solve problems of rational use of natural resources and sustainable development;
ON4. Use modern innovative methods of processing geographic information using GIS technologies to predict geographic processes;
ON5. To conduct general geographic, field studies using statistical, mathematical, cartographic research methods;
ON6. Analyze the patterns of formation of the spatial structures of the economy and the population;
ON7. Assess the development of natural-economic and territorial, socio-economic systems of different levels, the interaction of the environment and population;
ON8. Create, using GIS technologies and the collected geodatabase, thematic maps of the regions of Kazakhstan;
