  • Description - Aim оf the discipline - formation of readiness and ability of doctoral students to implement their own research studies and projects, presenting their results in writing in accordance with the norms of the international academic community. As a result of studying the discipline the PhD student will be able to: • independently formulate hypotheses on the goal, objectives, subject and object of scientific work, as well as productive research questions in the field of philosophical research; • write a scientific article on the topic of dissertation research in accordance with the norms of the international academic community, including annotations to the article, applications for a conference or grant, etc. • demonstrate the skills of summarizing, reviewing and examining the quality of scientific work, as well as finding relevant bibliographic sources and assessing their quality; • present the results of their research in the form of publications and presentations in an academic, expert and professional environment, using appropriate communication tools; • initiate discussion of urgent problems in their field of research with equal status and wide scientific community and society. The discipline "Academic writing" is aimed at familiarizing doctoral students with the requirements for the design and presentation of the results of scientific research in various scientific genres. The course includes the issues of developing skills in formulating research problems, selecting and substantiating methodological tools, searching and selecting literature, writing a literature review, developing critical reading skills of one's own and other people's work, providing feedback, reasoned discussion, preparing a scientific article for publication in a peer-reviewed publication and etc.

  • Description - The main purpose of "PhD thesis writing and defence": of a doctoral dissertation is the formation of the doctoral students' ability to disclose the content of research work for the defense of the thesis. During the study of course, doctoral student's should be competent in: 1. to substantiate the content of new scientifically grounded theoretical and experimental results that allow to solve a theoretical or applied problem or are a major achievement in the development of specific scientific directions; 2. explain the assessment of the completeness of the solutions to the tasks assigned, according to the specifics of the professional sphere of activity; 3. they can analyze alternative solutions for solving research and practical problems and assess the prospects for implementing these options; 4. apply the skills of writing scientific texts and presenting them in the form of scientific publications and presentations. 5. to plan and structure the scientific search, clearly highlight the research problem, develop a plan / program and methods for its study, formalize, in accordance with the requirements of the State Educational Establishment, the scientific and qualification work in the form of a thesis for a scientific degree Doctor of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) on specialty «8D07502 – Standardization and certification (by industry)».   • Description - The purpose of discipline: to form students ' systematic understanding of the scientific and theoretical basis and actual problems of political catalogue. As a result of studying the discipline the student will be able to: 1. to explain the essence and significance of the peculiarities of the functioning of political power in the modern States of the world community; 2. to demonstrate the ability of purposeful planning and implementation of the process of studying power and power relations, as well as modern trends in the development of political power. 3. to carry out a critical analysis and assess the phenomenon of political power in the context of the inadmissibility of its personalization in a democratic state; 4. to contribute to the development of new ideas to the study of the specifics and mechanisms of political power through critical thinking and creativity. 5. effectively use categorical apparatus, scientific ideas, theories, concepts of political knowledge about power to effectively promote social and cultural development of society. The course is devoted to the study of power as a basic category of political science, its importance and prospects for further development in the system of social relations. In the study of the discipline the following topics will be considered: the history of political thought about power; political power as a social phenomenon; the basic principles of power, its structure, types, forms, typology, resources; modern concepts of power; features of power ethos; prerequisites and stages of development of political power; universal and specific features of political power; political power in modern society.

  • Description - Aim оf discipline - formation of knowledge of philosophy and methodology of scientific research, planning and conducting productive scientific activity. As a result of studying the discipline the PhD student will be able to: - to use necessary methods of a philosophical research and advantage of cross-disciplinary strategy of a research, to carry out independent scientific research and to be competent of a formulation of the own scientific conclusions; - to carry out the philosophical analysis of a scientific problem; - to transform the received philosophical knowledge on theoretical base of solutions of scientific problems; - to use the conceptual and methodical device of philosophy at realization of various level of the creative ideas – to carry out further theoretical and/or applied research and development at the high level, making the significant contribution to creation of the new ideas, approaches and methods. The discipline "Scientific Research methods" is an obligatory component of the educational program of training of PhD student in "Philosophy". The course is designed to promote development of ways and methods of conducting scientific research. Consecutive use of methodology of scientific research promotes comprehensive increase in level of scientific researches of future scientist-philosopher. Social and political ideas in the history of the Kazakh philosophy

  • Description - The purpose of the course: the formation of skills of philosophical analysis of the processes of formation and development of political ideas in the history of Kazakh philosophy. As a result of studying the discipline the PhD student will be able to: 1. analyze the history of socio-political ideas in the Kazakh philosophical tradition; 2. apply the fundamental categorical and methodological apparatus of philosophy in its main theoretical sections to study the problems of the development of political philosophy in Kazakhstan; 3. to carry out a comparative analysis of the political concepts of the Kazakh and world philosophy; 4. identify the main fundamental problems; to reveal the successive connection between the history of the Turkic and Kazakh philosophy and modern Kazakh public thought, to show the nature of the influence of Kazakh social and political thought on modern social processes; 5. carry out independent research and development in the field of modern policy philosophy, contributing to the creation of new ideas, approaches and methods. The course examines in depth the history of Kazakh social thought, which found a deep reflection of the ideas of social progress, development, identity and self-determination of national states, both in the context of the fundamental importance of education, and in direct correlation with the ideological and spiritual values of the Kazakh people. The course is aimed at in-depth consideration of the main stages of the genesis of the Kazakh philosophical and socio-political thought, its problems, specifics and thinkers.

  • Description - The purpose of the discipline: to form students ' systematic understanding of the philosophy and practice of constructivism as a methodology of socio-political knowledge. As a result of studying the discipline the student will be able to: 1. to demonstrate the ability to identify the basic provisions of constructivism, features and specifics of different directions of constructivism; 2. to carry out a critical analysis of the leading problems of practical application of modern constructivism as a methodology of socio-political cognition; 3. to contribute to the development of new ideas to the study of the possibilities and limits of the use of constructivism in the field of political reality; 4. to carry out a social and philosophical analysis of the main directions of philosophical constructivism 5. to effectively use the basic theoretical approaches of the socio-constructivist paradigm. The course is devoted to the study of the history, specifics and features of constructivism as a methodology of modern socio-political knowledge. When studying the subject will cover the following topics: the history of the constructive philosophy and the philosophy of constructivism; constructive mentality as the context and research program; epistemology and the boundaries of constructivism; the main trends in philosophical constructivism; the specificity of the socio-constructivist paradigm; constructivism in international political science; ethnomethodology and ethnogenic how constructivist approaches in social cognition; synergy and constructivism; constructive political futurology.

Modern political mythology

  • Description - The purpose of teaching discipline is definition of the main sources of formation of political mythology, and also the analysis of contents and mechanisms of its functioning, including definition of a mythogenic role of mass media in modern conditions, with development of new information channels of communication and modern network systems. As a result of studying the discipline, the undergraduate will be able to: 1. to interpret the main aspects of a phenomenon of the political myth in a section of the main social and philosophical concepts; 2. to reveal the ontologic, anthropological, ethical, methodological principles of understanding of the political myth, mythological thinking and a modern formation of myths; 3. to formulate and investigate urgent philosophical problems of the political myth in the context of the main problems of a course, 4. to analyze and compare the latest philosophical theories concerning essence of the political myth and modern mythological thinking, to reason own point of view 5. - to apply knowledge of methodological and logical problems of the political myth and a formation of myths in carrying out philosophical researches. The course is dedicated to one of the urgent problems of modern political philosophy - modern myth-making. In this course the main sources of formation of political mythology, and also contents and mechanisms of its functioning are considered. Relevance of this course consists in strengthening of a mythogenic role of mass media in modern conditions, with development of new information channels of communication and modern network systems.

As a result of studying the discipline the PhD student will be able to: 1. to systematize the main content of the key schools of modern political thought - utilitarianism, liberal egalitarianism, libertarianism, Marxism, communitarianism, feminism, multiculturalism, etc.; 2. interpret and extrapolate a systematic understanding of current political trends, trends and patterns of development; 3. analyze and discuss freely on the political life of the society; 4. evaluate the meaning of spiritual values, traditions and innovations in the formation of national and personal political identity in the multicultural world; 5. to carry out a critical analysis of modern social and political processes based on philosophical and political discourse. The course covers the theoretical and methodological foundations of the latest trends in philosophical and political thought, modernist and postmodern political discourses, paradigms and concepts of modern political philosophy. The course examines the interrelation of the political institutions of the modern world with the ideas of political philosophy and ideological values. The course includes consideration of both traditional and new problems of the political existence of society in modern political terms: the nature of power, state and justice, ethics and freedom, etc .; systematized political ideas of philosophers of the twentieth and twentieth centuries: R Nozik, M. Foucault, N. Chomsky and others.

Modern Theories of Democracy

  • Description - The purpose of the discipline-the formation of worldview of future specialists in the study of various approaches to the prevailing scientific concepts of democracies, characterized by diversity and complexity of political practice. As a result of studying the discipline the doctoral student will be able to: 1. to analyze certain political ideas, concepts, theories of democracy; 2. to reveal the essence of the main ideas and aspects of modern problems of democracy; 3. to correlate the processes of democratic development with the socio-economic, cultural and historical situation in Kazakhstan; 4.to analyze the impact of democratic processes on modern international relations; 5.to demonstrate knowledge of the foundations of existing theories of democracy and historical concepts of a democratic political regime. The course is devoted to the presentation of the main provisions and principles of modern theoretical concepts of democracy, showing the diversity of approaches to the definition and characteristics of democracy, which is associated with the real diversity of its practical forms of existence. This course will cover both the way democracy is formed and developed, as well as modern democratic theories and democratic institutions. Democracy is presented mainly as a certain image of a political society and the whole concrete social system. Each of the directions has a conceptual and normative character, i.e. characterizes a particular kind of democracy ideally. However, the theoretical consideration is based on real experience, and therefore on empirical-descriptive approach.

As a result of studying the discipline the PhD student will be able to: 1. to formulate the main categories of political policy in the context of psychology, logic and communication theory, 2. identify basic rhetorical concepts and evaluate various rhetorical models in the field of politics 3. to determine the nature, style and techniques of political discourse 4. distinguish between traditional and innovative in rhetoric, apply the categories and principles of rhetoric. 5. give a rhetorical assessment of political statements and speeches. The course aims to give an idea of the history of political rhetoric as a separate section of general rhetoric, its features, problems and prospects. It is intended to promote an in-depth understanding of the philosophical, psychological and political science foundations in the field of political technologies and political communications. The objective of the course is to teach to evaluate, apply and effectively use the knowledge gained, taking into account the specific features, analysis of political speech, debates, tactical and strategic policy goals.

Theory and practice of legitimacy

As a result of studying the discipline the student will be able to: 1. to identify the problems of modern theory and philosophy of political legitimacy, to differentiate them according to the complexity and relevance of the study; 2. to carry out a critical analysis and evaluate the mechanisms of political legitimization from the standpoint of various scientific schools and directions; 3. to demonstrate the skills of independent mastering of modern theoretical and methodological approaches of political science in the process of studying the phenomenon of legitimacy; 4. to contribute to the development of new ideas in solving complex problems and in setting specific tasks in the field of political legitimation for solving educational and professional problems. 5. to predict the directions of modification of the problem of legitimacy in the era of globalization. The course is devoted to the study of the Genesis, formation and development of the legitimacy of power; specifics, structure and functional mechanisms of political legitimacy. In the study of the discipline will be considered the following topics: the Genesis and history of the legitimacy of power; signs, sources, mechanisms, levels and types of legitimacy; the concept of effectiveness and the threshold of legitimacy; the world practice of legitimacy; legitimacy crises and ways to resolve them (for example, different countries); manifestation of different types of legitimacy of power in the process of becoming an independent Kazakhstan; modification of the problem of legitimacy in the era of globalization.
