MODEL OF GRADUATING STUDENT

1. Discuss the theoretical base of literature and argue their point of view, criticize various literary genres and own modern information retrieval systems to improve the skills of analyzing and synthesizing professional material;
2. to analyze at the empirical level the results of scientific research, modern theories, problems and approaches, new trends in the study of a foreign language;
3. apply the basic principles and paradigms of foreign philology with the systematization of scientific theories and concepts of the latest directions of foreign literature in order to apply this knowledge in depth when using the initial theoretical positions;
4. conduct a research process on the topic of the thesis and present scientific results for discussion in scientific discussions and publications in rating journals in international databases;
5. reason scientific goals and objectives and find their solution by developing scientific experiments and critically analyzing their results, be prepared for tolerant interaction and the development of theoretical knowledge obtained;
6. substantiate interdisciplinary knowledge in the research process on the problems of foreign philology with the goal of describing and analyzing modern research approaches;
7. substantiate in their research the conceptual categorical apparatus, historiography and methodology of foreign philology as a science, to compare the main scientific research schools and the directions of foreign philology;
8. evaluate the aspectology of foreign linguistics, the specifics of language as a social phenomenon, the scientific problems of the leading scientific fields in the field of language influence and linguopragmatics;
9. theorize the main features and patterns of development of philology with the use of theoretical translation skills for the study of corpus linguistics;
10. master the skills of qualified analysis, assessment and justify the methodology of linguistics as an integral knowledge of the language, explore the basic methods of philology and general scientific paradigms
11. to develop skills for processing, in accordance with the intended purpose, various information in English, obtained from auditing sources and to ensure the creation of skills for reviewing scientific literature in the field of foreign philology;
12. be capable of abstract thinking, synthesis and analysis, commenting and interpretation of the received methodological information, systematization of theoretical knowledge.

  • Description - The main purpose of "PhD thesis writing and defence": of a doctoral dissertation is the formation of the doctoral students' ability to disclose the content of research work for the defense of the thesis. During the study of course, doctoral student's should be competent in: 1. to substantiate the content of new scientifically grounded theoretical and experimental results that allow to solve a theoretical or applied problem or are a major achievement in the development of specific scientific directions; 2. explain the assessment of the completeness of the solutions to the tasks assigned, according to the specifics of the professional sphere of activity; 3. they can analyze alternative solutions for solving research and practical problems and assess the prospects for implementing these options; 4. apply the skills of writing scientific texts and presenting them in the form of scientific publications and presentations. 5. to plan and structure the scientific search, clearly highlight the research problem, develop a plan / program and methods for its study, formalize, in accordance with the requirements of the State Educational Establishment, the scientific and qualification work in the form of a thesis for a scientific degree Doctor of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) on specialty «8D07502 – Standardization and certification (by industry)». As a result of the discipline study, PhD students will be able to: demonstrate cognitive-discursive skills aimed at extracting explicit and implicit information contained in the text; analyze research methods used in linguodidactics (the science of developing methods for teaching a foreign language), terminology (the science of streamlining and standardizing scientific and technical terminology), translation studies (translation theory), and computer linguistics; analyze the theoretical and practical aspects of compiling computer dictionaries for natural language processing systems; identify the similarities and differences of dictionaries, which are machine versions of traditional dictionaries; use computer tools and specialized technologies in the field of analysis and processing of natural language for conducting various types of lexicographic systems Will be studied: classification of research methods used in linguo-didactics, terminology, in computer linguistics, types of dictionaries, computer programs for creating lexicographic systems.

As a result of the discipline study, PhD students will be able to: demonstrate knowledge of translation techniques using innovative technologies; analyze the methods of modeling the innovation process through the use of modern technologies; apply the main computer programs used in linguistic research for various purposes (comparative analysis of the definitions of linguistic terms, compiling a terminology corpus), research programs (SPSS, CLAN, PRAAT, SOLO), programs in automatic English-Russian and Russian-English (PROMT , Translation Memory, ABBYY Lingvo), Russian-Kazakh and Kazakh-Russian translation (SOZDIK); edit scientific research using machine translation; apply the most effective innovative technologies in scientific research with the formulation of reasoned conclusions and conclusions.   • Description - The purpose of the course As a result of study of the discipline, the doctoral student must have the following competencies and gain the following outcomes: 1. to recognize the specifics and linguistic features of the texts of mass communication; 2. to demonstrate adequate perception and production of modern media texts; 3. to analyze and classify the texts of the media; 4. to show skills of the linguistic analysis of texts of media, skills of work with texts of mass communication, namely skills of creation and editing original newspaper texts, television interviews; 5. to interpret the main pragmalinguistic concepts, their authors, the main terminology of a pragmalinguistics, stylistic and lexical features of language of media and advertizing; 6. to own the culture of thought, ability to the analysis of texts of media and advertizing and to demontsrate skills of work with the main information retrieval systems of representation of knowledge, with various electronic resources, the foreign press for the solution of linguistic tasks and the contextual analysis within the given discipline.   • Description - The purpose of the discipline is to form the doctorates' understanding of the most important problems of terminology as the core component of the linguistic meta-language, the basics of constructing a conceptual model of the term. Upon completion of the discipline, doctoral students will be able to: 1. to systematize the main conceptual apparatus of gender linguistics, sociolinguistics, cultural studies, basic models, discursive characteristics, as well as features of the word usage, functional and stylistic features of the speech activity of native speakers; 2. to expand the volume of linguistic and cultural knowledge, skills and abilities associated with the adequate use of language means, consciously use speech means in accordance with the task of communication; to plan and regulate their activities, to conduct a linguistic analysis of texts of different periods of language development, taking into account language variability; 3. to generalize and classify the types of scientific paradigms in linguistics; 4. to differentiate the various linguistic schools and directions, know the representatives and the basic tenets of these schools; 5. to understand the relationship of philosophy and linguistics; to understand the epistemological problems of science in general and linguistics in particular; 6. to use general scientific and linguistic methods of research and knowledge of the meta-language content of the terms of theoretical and applied linguistics. The discipline "MetaDictionary and Linguistic Terminology" is aimed at developing among students the understanding of the most important problems of terminology as the core component of the linguistic meta-language, the basics of constructing a conceptual model of the meaning of a term.
