MODEL OF GRADUATING STUDENT

Upon completion of this educational program, students are expected to be able to:
1. demonstrate a systematic presentation and understanding of the scientific knowledge specifics and research methodology in the framework of modern paradigms of international relations problems, international and regional research and build on their own conceptual research base;
2. to rank the theoretical and methodological approaches in the study of regional and international processes and to argue the regional problems and the specifics of the socio-political understanding of reality;
3. substantiate and present the results of scientific research on new trends in the world and regional economic and political situation of modern scientific schools in the world and Kazakhstani science of regional studies for the analysis of the interaction of countries;
4. critically examine the integration processes contents in the world, identifying their similarities and differences based on monitoring the development of regional and international processes;
5. use modern information technologies for receiving, processing, systematization, analysis and storage of scientific information on topical issues of regional processes;
6. analyze and present an expert assessment of the geopolitical relations of the Central Asian countries and Eurasia with leading regional and global centers of power;
7. to substantiate the significance of new measurements and new parameters of regional security in order to ascertain new trends in the development of states in a regional context;
8. to present the scientific results of the dissertation research for discussion with the scientific community in the format of publications in rating journals in international databases of Thomson-Reuters or Scopus, as well as in national and international peer-reviewed publications.
9. To critically evaluate changes in the global and regional economic and political situation and determine the extent of their influence on intra-state socio-economic and political processes;
10. To carry out research, design, and educational and professional activities in the specialty in the form of scientific reports, abstracts, article theses, comments, doctoral theses, educational research and scientific projects.
11. Demonstrate the skills of public speaking both to specialists and to an audience that does not have the appropriate professional training using at least two foreign languages, taking into account professional and scientific ethic requirements within the framework of corporate culture.
12. Create a bank of scientific and practical recommendations on the development of political, economic, socio-cultural regional processes;

During the study of course, PhD students should be competent in: - justify possession of comparative methods that contribute to giving a reasoned scientific explanation of the similarity and (or) difference of countries and regions of the world, due to historical laws; - explain the methodology for conducting research on this topic; - have the skills to analyze the relationship of systemic and level-sectoral consideration of regional processes; - use the methods of structural-functional analysis of political, social and economic institutions characteristic of different countries and regions of the world, taking into account their cultural and historical specificity; - the ability of the system representation and understanding of the specifics to be able to structure the functional organization of the region and the structural characteristics of the regions; - explain the scientific hypothesis on this topic and take into account the ethnocultural, ethno-confessional and ethno-psychological parameters that determine the mentality of the population in different regions of the world in practical and research activities; - systematically present and understand the specifics of scientific knowledge and research methodology in the framework of regional studies and regional studies; - to develop a theoretical and methodological base of research on this subject and formulate and scientifically substantiate the perspective position of Kazakhstan on topical issues of security and interaction with various countries and regions of the world. During the study of course, doctoral student's should be competent in: 1. to substantiate the content of new scientifically grounded theoretical and experimental results that allow to solve a theoretical or applied problem or are a major achievement in the development of specific scientific directions; 2. explain the assessment of the completeness of the solutions to the tasks assigned, according to the specifics of the professional sphere of activity; 3. they can analyze alternative solutions for solving research and practical problems and assess the prospects for implementing these options; 4. apply the skills of writing scientific texts and presenting them in the form of scientific publications and presentations. 5. to plan and structure the scientific search, clearly highlight the research problem, develop a plan / program and methods for its study, formalize, in accordance with the requirements of the State Educational Establishment, the scientific and qualification work in the form of a thesis for a scientific degree Doctor of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) on specialty «8D07502 – Standardization and certification (by industry)». Analysis of the dynamics of integration processes in the Eurasian region

During the study of course, PhD students should be competent in: - know methods and ways of solving research problems in the field of integration research, theory and methodology of analysis of integration groups, forms and stages of international integration processes; - possess knowledge of the theory and practice of integration processes in Eurasia, based on modern approaches in the science of international relations; - be able to conduct information retrieval for solving research problems, necessary for solving scientific and professional problems; - have the ability to formulate conclusions based on the results of research, experiments, observations, measurements on integration issues in Eurasia; - draw up expert opinions and participate in the development of promising international development assistance programs; - to assess the role and importance of the Eurasian idea of N. A. Nazarbayev in contemporary international relations; - to have detailed knowledge of the historical development and relations between civilizations in Eurasia and demonstrate knowledge of how the study of the integration processes in Eurasia helps to formulate the logic of the historical development of a given region; - to formulate a reflection on current trends and policies in Eurasian integration with a focus on integration in the post-Soviet space (CIS, CSTO, Eurasian Union, etc.), including those processes in which China is involved, as well as opportunities and problems associated with integration . Dynamics of geopolitical processes in Central Asia

During the study of course, PhD students should be competent in: - to form a system representation and understanding of the specifics of the geographical, historical, ethnic and socio-cultural characteristics of the region; - to analyze the geopolitical position of Central Asia at the present stage; - to possess methods of forecasting on the political and socio-economic development of the states of Central Asia, affecting the growth and weakening of the country's geopolitical power; - be able to analyze the theories and concepts studied in the course for the analysis of regional geopolitics; - be able to apply factual material reflecting the geopolitical processes in Central Asia related to a multi-vector policy; - own ideas about the geopolitical interests of the main actors of the region; - have the ability to assess the importance of geopolitical interaction of Central Asian countries with world and regional leaders: China, the EU, the United States, Russia and others; - evaluate from the point of view of geopolitics the development of the region and the “good” intentions of the West to democratize Central Asia. During the study of the discipline, PhD students will learn following aspects: This course is designed for PhD students and is of a theoretical and applied nature, since it involves the acquisition of knowledge of traditional and newest theories of geopolitics and the development of skills of applied analysis for the study of geopolitical processes in Central Asia. The course demonstrates both the limits of applicability of theoretical approaches for analyzing geopolitical processes, as well as their effectiveness.

During the study of course, PhD students should be competent in: - the theoretical foundations of the organization of research activities; - know the nature and content of regional and national security in Kazakhstan and abroad; - know historical and theoretical aspects of security development; - be able to identify the main areas of national security of Kazakhstan and features of ensuring national security in other countries of the world, solving problem situations and scientific research tasks; - to be able to share the results of the research with the scientific community, to enter into dialogue; - to defend their point of view on security issues; - to take part in discussion because all past gains of theoretical thought and stereotypes of international political issues of national and regional security prevailing in half a century are in doubt; - identify the knowledge of the object boundaries of the global security space, its current state, the logic of development and interaction with other spaces of modern world politics and international relations. During the study of the discipline PhD students will learn following aspects: discipline " New dimensions of regional security " is intended to deepen knowledge of international, regional and national security; military-political mechanisms and a complex of political-diplomatic measures to ensure regional security; problems of exporting weapons and military technology; peacekeeping and crisis diplomacy. The course logically complements a number of disciplines that study theory, the history of development and the current state of the system of international relations.
