MODEL OF GRADUATING STUDENT
1) to develop documents for obtaining sanitary and epidemiological conclusions for various biological objects and biomaterials as a result of applied research in order to prevent potential biological threats, using knowledge in the field of Kazakhstani and international legislation on ensuring biological safety for the inactivation of infectious agents, biosecurity of personnel and the environment;
2) to obtain new data on the mechanisms of viral action on various bio-models: animal, plant and microbial cells, as a result of experimental research based on methods of molecular hybridization of nucleic acids, cell lines and typing of isolated viruses;
3) to carry out the identification of viruses for fundamental and applied research used in medicine, veterinary medicine, agriculture and the food industry;
4) to create management systems for biological safety levels in order to recognize, control and study potential viral threats based on the creation of models for predicting the possible consequences of the release of an infectious agent into the environment to calculate the effectiveness of possible anti-epidemic measures;
5) to develop strategies and research programs in the field of virology for government organizations, firms, enterprises, companies and institutions of biological, medical, environmental and agricultural profiles, using innovative project management based on modern theories and molecular methods of virological analysis in related research areas;
6) to develop new methods, technologies and innovative products to solve urgent problems in biomedicine, agriculture, ecology and the food industry as a result of fundamental research based on methods of laboratory diagnostics of viral infections, ‘omic’ technologies, and identification of viral markers based on immune responses;
7) to introduce into practice the results of scientific research in the field of virology, receiving acts of implementation, conclusions, patents and publish them in journals with a high citation index;
8) to conduct training sessions in universities in the field of virology, using practice-oriented, innovative pedagogical technologies, digital educational resources, developing sets of methodological support for the discipline and teaching aids.
