  • Description - Aim of discipline: to form the ability to explain the genetic mechanisms of the organic evolutionary process and the relationship of the human-nature-society system. In studying the discipline, the following aspects will be addressed: basic principles of organizing life; levels of organization of life: molecular genetic, ontogenetic, population-specific, biogeocenotic levels of organization of life; the genetic basis of microevolution; elementary evolutionary factors: mutations, population waves, isolation, gene drift, migration, natural selection; adaptaciogenesis; molecular and genetic mechanisms of progressive evolution; system man-nature-society.

Genome editing technologies

  • Description - Purpose: to develop the ability to demonstrate a systematic understanding of promising genome editing technologies and the possibility of their application to solve practical problems. The course covers methods using ZFN or zinc finger (site-specific nuclease) systems; TALEN (chimeric nuclease constructs), CRISPR/Cas9 method and other genome editing methods; assessment of the safety and effectiveness of approved editing methods.

  • Description - Aim of discipline to develop the ability to conduct advanced research in the field of molecular evolution and phylogenetics using the latest methods and technologies. It will consider: patterns and mechanisms of changes in genetic macromolecules (DNA, RNA, proteins) in the process of evolution, the evolution of genes and organisms; molecular phylogenetic analysis, genetic foundations of macroevolutionary changes, epigenetic changes in evolutionary processes.

  • Description - Aim of discipline: to form the ability to analyze the development trends of modern genetics and molecular biology in order to develop new scientific and methodological approaches to studying the molecular mechanisms of heredity and variability. In studying the discipline, the following aspects will be addressed: modern advances in studying the domain organization of RNA and evolutionary aspects at the molecular level, regulation of phage and viral genes; bacterial genome regulatory pathways; mobile genetic elements and their regulation, principles of domain formation, independent, cooperative and integral regulation of eukaryotic genes, cluster genes, and their regulation; methods of differential gene expression, genome mapping, the use of GMOs, their certification and prevention of undesirable effects, gene therapy as a practice of gene regulation.

  • Description - The main purpose of "PhD thesis writing and defence": of a doctoral dissertation is the formation of the doctoral students' ability to disclose the content of research work for the defense of the thesis. During the study of course, doctoral student's should be competent in: 1. to substantiate the content of new scientifically grounded theoretical and experimental results that allow to solve a theoretical or applied problem or are a major achievement in the development of specific scientific directions; 2. explain the assessment of the completeness of the solutions to the tasks assigned, according to the specifics of the professional sphere of activity; 3. they can analyze alternative solutions for solving research and practical problems and assess the prospects for implementing these options; 4. apply the skills of writing scientific texts and presenting them in the form of scientific publications and presentations. 5. to plan and structure the scientific search, clearly highlight the research problem, develop a plan / program and methods for its study, formalize, in accordance with the requirements of the State Educational Establishment, the scientific and qualification work in the form of a thesis for a scientific degree Doctor of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) on specialty «8D07502 – Standardization and certification (by industry)». It will be considered: organization and technique of breeding process, intraspecific and interspecific hybridization, introgression, mutagenesis and polyploidy in plant breeding, breeding of heterozygous hybrids, molecular-genetic methods of breeding; association mapping.

  • Description - Aim of discipline: to form the ability to analyze and explain the molecular genetic mechanisms of hormonal regulation of the vital activity of living organisms for research project development in the field of functional genetics. In studying the discipline, the following aspects will be addressed: physical and chemical fundamentals and structural organization of receptor-ligand ensembles taking part in hormonal response of the cell or living thing; modern views on hormonal classification, biosynthesis, and decomposition, molecular mechanisms of signaling effect of hormonal response in humans, animals and plants; hormonal signaling pathways, their extracellular, cytoplasmic and nuclear components; databases on hormonal signalomics and various hormonal crosstalks of eukaryotes; mapping of signaling hormonal cascades.
