- define the conceptual foundations of programming in the ENVI, ArcGIS, ArcMap, ERDAS, Surfer, etc. systems and effectively choose the software when designing map products and analyzing satellite images
- demonstrate the use of innovative methods and promising trends of modern cartography in the planning of scientific and educational programs and building an educational strategy
- to characterize the factors of changes in the structure and dynamics of spatial systems and to build their predictive cartographic models for solving environmental and socio-economic problems of society
- classify methods of cartographic modeling using various environmental monitoring and control systems
- update and apply digital technologies when updating the geodetic, toponymic and content basis of topographic maps in the adopted scale series system

Fundamentals of programming in ArcGis environment, using Visual Basic for Application to work successfully with ArcView, ArcEditor, or ArcInfo and Visual Studio to develop their own applications.
