International Olympiad in geodesy

Graduate students of the Department of Geography and Environmental Sciences of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University took 2nd place in the International Olympiad for GEODESIA, which was first held at the Guangdong Polytechnic University of Industry and Commerce in the city of Guanzhou of the People's Republic of China. This conference was attended by students from 9 countries of Central Asia.

International Olympiad was held in two stages. The first stage is field geodetic work, where the guys Tagayev Rustam and Begimzhanova Yerkezhan performed a highly accurate geodetic survey of the terrain with the use of electronic tools of the latest generation in a certain time allotted.

The second stage included the office processing of the completed survey using software products to obtain a 3D terrain plan.

The sponsor of this Olympiad, SOUTH, has awarded undergraduates of the Department of Geography and Environmental Sciences of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University with a recognition certificate for excellent results, and Gulban Kuttybayevna Baidauletova, the head of the school, was thanked for the quality of future specialists in the field of GEODESIA and in recognition of the Kazakh National.
