MODEL OF GRADUATING STUDENT

ON1 Conduct a critical analysis of modern theoretical paradigms and concepts in translation studies for a systematic understanding of the patterns of development of the science of translation and theoretical justification of the main provisions of linguistic and literary theories of translation.
ON2 Apply the methodology of academic writing when composing a scientific text with the argumentation of one’s own ideas for analyzing the translated text based on the linguistic theory of translation.
ON3 Conduct classes using innovative teaching technologies to improve translation practice based on the integration of linguistic and interlingual disciplines and an intercultural approach to translation based on cultural and sociological concepts for scientific and critical analysis and forecasting of promising research in translation studies.
ON4 Integrate knowledge in the field of theory and practice of translation with didactics of higher education when developing methodological techniques, evaluation criteria and translation standards for conducting independent expert assessment of translation works.
ON5 Apply research methods for planning and organizing research on interpretation, simultaneous and written translation to solve translation problems when analyzing linguistic and literary aspects of translation based on the dominants of the aesthetic function of translation and the linguistic theory of equivalence.
ON6 Systematize scientific criteria for evaluating a translated text in accordance with theoretical standards of equivalence and adequacy and methodological principles of scientific criticism of translation to conduct an examination of translation quality.
ON7 Develop a strategy for managing the translation process and its participants using a set of research methods for monitoring all stages of translation, preparing scientific articles in accordance with international conventions and protecting new ideas in the global scientific community.
ON8 Develop criteria for analysis and evaluation of finished translated texts in various genres, taking into account the speech norms of the target language and the use of literary theory of translation to determine the level of professional skill of the translator.
ON9 Generate new ideas in managing innovative, pedagogical and scientific processes to increase the level of digestibility of translation information in the scientific and educational environment based on current trends in the development of world and domestic translation studies and its specifics in the context of various translation concepts.
ON10 Systematize the organizational structure of research on types of translation to coordinate the scientific and work activities of the team in predicting fundamental ideas in translation studies, preparing scientific publications in international journals, discussions with opponents and supporters.

  • Description - The goal of the discipline is to develop competencies in the field of written scientific communication, the ability to write and edit texts in accordance with the standards of academic communication; to create scientific texts of different genres: dissertations, annotations, scientific articles, argumentative (analytical) essays, research justification and review, philological comments, etc. The discipline is aimed at studying the structural, compositional, stylistic features of scientific texts of different genres.

  • Description - The aim of the discipline is to form the ability to analyze, evaluate, and examine translated texts based on the theory and criticism of translation to determine the quality of the translation product. Should be studied: the methodology of translation criticism; feasibility of translation solutions; expert assessment of the translation activity product; development of criteria for evaluating the final product; editing translation works.

  • Description - The main purpose of "PhD thesis writing and defence": of a doctoral dissertation is the formation of the doctoral students' ability to disclose the content of research work for the defense of the thesis. During the study of course, doctoral student's should be competent in: 1. to substantiate the content of new scientifically grounded theoretical and experimental results that allow to solve a theoretical or applied problem or are a major achievement in the development of specific scientific directions; 2. explain the assessment of the completeness of the solutions to the tasks assigned, according to the specifics of the professional sphere of activity; 3. they can analyze alternative solutions for solving research and practical problems and assess the prospects for implementing these options; 4. apply the skills of writing scientific texts and presenting them in the form of scientific publications and presentations. 5. to plan and structure the scientific search, clearly highlight the research problem, develop a plan / program and methods for its study, formalize, in accordance with the requirements of the State Educational Establishment, the scientific and qualification work in the form of a thesis for a scientific degree Doctor of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) on specialty «8D07502 – Standardization and certification (by industry)». Psychology of Interpretation and Translation

Should be studied: the reflection of paralinguistic, cognitive and linguistic aspects in the psychology of translation; measuring the personality dynamics of the intellectual development of a translator; setting semantic, visual and auditory perception of the translator; methods for developing probabilistic forecasting mechanisms; memory; attention; imagination etc
