LO1. Summarize the results of your own research based on the technology of scientific communication, academic foreign language, modern methods in research activities to solve scientific and scientific-educational problems;
LO2. Evaluate the results of pedagogical research, identifying the opportunities and risks of their implementation in the educational and sociocultural environment, prospects for further research;
LO3. Able to critically analyze scientific literature and contemporary research in the field of geographical science and education;
LO4 Reasonably select and effectively use educational technologies, methods and means of training and education in order to ensure the planned level of personal and professional growth of the student;
LO5. Possess skills in effective written and oral presentation of research results, including publication of scientific articles and posters at conferences;
LO6. Interpret interdisciplinary knowledge in applied geographical research based on GIS technologies using innovative approaches, principles and methods;
LO7. Coordinate the processes of scientific research and projects in centers related to Earth science, as well as in the process of teaching geographical courses in secondary and higher schools of the Republic of Kazakhstan using statistical, mathematical, cartographic research methods;
LO8. Interpret the results of pedagogical research, assess the limits of their applicability, possible risks of their implementation in the educational and sociocultural environment, prospects for further research;
LO9. Demonstrate the leadership skills necessary to manage, organize, coordinate and control teams in educational projects to achieve the goals and implement the pedagogical objectives of geographical education;

  • Description - The purpose of the course is the formation of the ability to develop the skills of written and oral speech activity in the geographical scientific field. The course is aimed at getting acquainted with the features of scientific communication, scientific and scientific-publicistic discourse, examines academic speech, features of the scientific style, basic principles and methods of selecting literature on the subject, scientific continuity and plagiarism, features of academic correspondence.

Modern problems of geographical science

  • Description - The purpose of the discipline: the formation of fundamental physiographic, economic and geographical concepts and laws of spatial development, identifying cause-effect relationships to solve modern natural, socio-economic, geoeconomic and geo-ecological processes. In the course of studying the course to form the ability of doctoral students: - to characterize the existing approaches to the study of modern problems of geography; - determine the fundamental physiographic patterns of spatial development; - to characterize the economic and geographical concepts of spatial development; - identify cause-effect relationships for modern geographic processes; - assess changes in the structure of the world economy as a whole and in individual countries and regions; - make analytical descriptions, identify key problems, draw on the basis of their relevant conclusions. During the study of the discipline doctoral students will learn following aspects: the internal structure of geographical science, the place of geography in the system of scientific knowledge, trends in the development of geography, methodological, meta-theoretical, theoretical, scientific-methodical and applied problems in geography.

Discipline is aimed at the formation of theoretical knowledge of methods of teaching geographical disciplines in universities, using geo-information technologies and GIS programs, as well as the study of the development of new techniques based on GIS technologies as an information and technical basis of the studied disciplines.

  • Description - The purpose of studying the discipline “Pedagogical Management: Innovations in Geographical Education” is to expand and deepen the knowledge and skills of doctoral students in the field of pedagogical management, taking into account modern, innovative technologies of geographical education.

  • Description - The aim of the course is to provide theoretical and fundamental knowledge about the achievements of modern scientific geographical schools and the international experience of the World Standardization Institute (PMI, IPMA) in the field of project management. The methodological features of understanding the concept of project management as the basis of management makes it possible, using practical examples and tasks, to consolidate the key skills necessary for the successful management of scientific projects. In the course of studying the discipline, doctoral students will be able to find and work out solutions as a project manager in a model example during the implementation of projects at all phases of his life cycle, guided by knowledge, experience and systematic recommendations based on world best practices.
