Islamic Finance in Kazakhstan: prospects from AIFC and partners

Al-Farabi KazNU in the framework of the University Social Responsibility Network (USRN) organized the International Summer School «Diversity and Social Justice in Social Work: Research, Practice and Education». It was attended by students of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Simon Fraser University (Canada), University of Pretoria (South Africa) and KazNU. Students from regional Universities of Kazakhstan also had an opportunity to participate in it.

On May 23 of this year at the faculty of international relations of al-Farabi Kazakh National University there was an open lecture of member of the Board (Minister) on integration and macroeconomics of the Eurasian economic Commission Tatyana Dmitrievna Valovaya. The visit of the High level guest is a landmark for students and teachers of the University, who had a rare opportunity to see and listen to a brilliant lecturer, a person who has been engaged in integration practice for more than 20 years – the promotion of Eurasian integration in the post-Soviet space.

During May 27 to May 31, 2019, the 5th International Partnership for Technology in Peacekeeping Symposium, organized jointly with the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan, was held in Nur-Sultan.

The Department of the Far East together with the Education Center at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Almaty, the National Institute of Korean History under the Government of the Republic of Korea, with the support of the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Almaty organized a Competition on the knowledge of Korean history.

A delegation of the University of Zurich, led by PhD Dr., Professor Peter Finke, arrived at the «Central Asia» International Summer School being held at the Department of Religious Studies and Cultural Studies of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science of KazNU.

From April 3 to June 10, 2019, the 10th anniversary Universiade is held among HEIs of the Republic of Kazakhstan. More than 2 thousand students from 60 Universities of the country participate in the competition. Al-Farabi KazNU takes part in 30 sports, from - 37.

Today, the international roundtable on the topic «Korea unification – facts and prospects» held by International Center for the Strategic Research Development of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in cooperation with the Central Asian Representative Office of the Consultative Council on Peaceful and Democratic Unification of Korea tool place in Almaty.
